Innovation Working with a National Lab

IMTI Radical Innovation Webinar Series (Thursday, July 15th at 2:00 EST) - Partnerships — It’s their name, but it also represents the driving philosophy and commitment of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) who has an aggressive program designed to provide technology-based solutions to organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies to academic institutions. Underlying this philosophy is their belief that strong partnerships with U.S. industry is the best way to share Technological know-how. As Director of the Technology Transfer Division, [Dr. Michael Paulus] and his team fulfill this mission by licensing ORNL intellectual property to industrial partners, negotiating research collaborations (CRADAs) and non-federal Work for Others agreements, and negotiating and managing User Agreements which make ORNL’s eleven user facilities available to external partners. Regardless of the activity, they are committed to outcomes that create win-win opportunities for everyone.

In this presentation, Mike will talk about ORNL and how companies can use technology developed at the lab as an avenue for innovation. Examples will be discussed of how collaborations have helped others achieve breakthroughs with technology.
