DOL Competency Model Clearinghouse

Department of Labor - Competency models that identify the foundation and technical competency required for satisfactory on-the-job performance are a resource for program planners and curriculum developers. The models serve as curriculum maps ensuring that programs equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to secure a job and advance along a career path. Competency models assist curriculum developers to:

  • Develop competency-based training objectives and outcomes
  • Tailor courses to specific student populations or industry needs
  • Evaluate and update existing program content
