The Use of Models and Simulation in Enterprise Design and Operation

IMTI Radical Innovation Webinar Series (Thursday, May 20th at 2:00 EST) - Manufacturing is increasingly a distributed process. Hundreds, if not thousands, of suppliers participate in the production and distribution of most products.  Without careful planning, monitoring, and corrective action, control of costs, quality and schedule can be lost.  This potential for disintegration is inherently high in distributed processes, but globalization and economic volatility only serve to heighten the risks to most firms...Case studies will be presented in which models, optimization and simulation are used in network analysis, push-pull boundary establishment, lifecycle cost estimation and dynamic simulation.  In all applications, the end-to-end enterprise is treated so as to determine an enterprise wide solution rather than local sub-optimals.
