Example of Employee Cross-training - A Win, Win, Win

CAB Construction (Mulder) -  Our Company has taken an approach to overcome the need to keep all slots filled in the workforce through training a diversified workforce. We strive to cross train all employees to be skilled in at least 3 areas of production and manufacturing. This allowed my company to keep or take in work that would normally require us to hire or recall employees for short term workloads and do the work with our current workforce. This also allowed our current workforce to attain a 40 hour work week in most cases when loads may not have been at capacity in a given work center or product line but heavy in another. It also allowed us a more rapid ramp up ability and quicker response times to customer needs. The additional benefits to our employees is that it allows them to remain flexible and utilize all or most of their potential on a personal level as well as opening opportunities to move into better paying positions within the company. It a win, win, win situation for the company, the employee and the customer.

CAB Construction is a diverse metal fabrication, millwright service and steel building construction company with a 25 year history of providing quality products to our Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin customers.
