Manufacturing technology consumption down 65.9% in 2009
October U.S. manufacturing technology consumption totaled $152.68 million, according to AMT - The Association For Manufacturing Technology, and AMTDA, the American Machine Tool Distributors’ Association. This total, as reported by companies participating in the USMTC program, was down 2.8% from September and down 49.0% from the total of $299.28 million reported for October 2008. With a year-to-date total of $1,372.31 million, 2009 is down 65.9% compared with 2008.

We are going into the collective pooper as we offshore and downsize our way into a Tier Two economy ... we won't have to worry about Cap and Trade ... except for keeping the lights on ... there won't be much true wealth and job creating manufacturing and process industries left in the US more than powering the economy of Lesotho or Zimbabwe.
