An Emerging National Innovation Strategy

Policy Dialogue on Entrepreneurship (9/21, Marich) – While President Obama has said a lot of the right things about innovation and entrepreneurship, a number have pointed to a disconnect between those words and the actions and policies emerging from the Administration…But despite the rallying cry to "encourage high-growth and innovation-based entrepreneurship," the plan will certainly continue to find plenty of opponents. Some will question the overall effectiveness of the approach to spur entrepreneurship--including increased loans through the SBA, mentoring from SCORE, and promoting regional clusters--while others will read "catalyze breakthroughs for national priorities" as just another way for the president to push his plans for renewable energy, health reform and further regulation of financial markets.
